Interested in converting an existing building in Knowle?

An opportunity has come up for Bristol CLT to put in a bid for a site in Knowle with existing buildings which could be occupied immediately. The buildings could then be converted to provide a better internal arrangement to suit members.

Please let me know if you are interested in visiting the site and looking round the existing buildings with me and BCLT board members.  It would be useful to have members who are interested attending  so we can discuss what options are likely to appeal.  It is likely there will be an open day so I can email the date and time to anyone interested.

Site address:

Former Cloverdown Elderly Persons Home

Kenmare Road

Knowle BS4 1PG

Details:

The site is located in the residential area of Knowle, about 3 miles south of the City Centre and is close to bus routes, shops and schools. The main building is a 2/3 storey property with 20 bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, lounges and offices. There is also a 2 storey Matron’s House with three bedrooms, lounge, dining room and kitchen. The buildings are surrounded by landscaped areas with views across Bristol.

Site appraisal

– Refurbishment of the existing buildings would be through contracted labour together with members providing labour with support from Bristol CLT.

– Bristol CLT’s intention would be to have both a rent and a part own option in the long term.

(NB: All details are subject to change at this stage)
